Wake-Up to Change: Hotel Marcel’s Climate Call Initiative
Hotel Marcel New Haven, part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, has introduced a unique “Climate Wake-Up Call” for its guests. Instead of the usual wake-up call, visitors can opt to start their day with insights from prominent climate change experts, such as David Pogue, CBS Sunday Morning correspondent, and John Morales, founder of ClimaData.
In addition, Hotel Marcel is launching a website offering tips on sustainable living. On-site, guests can also find signage and a lobby phone to schedule their Climate Wake-Up Calls.
Bruce Becker, the hotel’s owner and developer, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “As a fossil fuel-free hotel, we’re committed to leading by example in addressing climate change. Our Climate Wake-Up Call connects guests with vital messages from climate advocates who share our vision of a more sustainable future.”
Since its opening in May 2022, the boutique hotel, located in New Haven’s historic Long Wharf district, has offered 165 guest rooms, 9,000 square feet of meeting space, and a restaurant with an all-electric kitchen that sources food locally. Hotel Marcel also features a fitness center, a lobby lounge, and an electric shuttle service within a five-mile radius.
