Strawberry Group Completes Mews Rollout Across 230 Hotels
Strawberry Group, one of the largest hotel chains in the Nordic region, has successfully implemented the Mews Property Management System (PMS) across its entire portfolio of 230 hotels. This significant achievement means that 9,000 hotel employees are now using Mews, providing consistent and user-friendly operations across all of Strawberry’s establishments.
Strawberry Group, known for its brands such as Comfort Hotel, Quality Hotel, Clarion Hotel, Clarion Collection Hotel, and around 50 independent hotels, chose Mews for its adaptability, scalability, and robust security features. This transition is part of Strawberry’s broader strategy to innovate and enhance guest experiences.
Eirik Bogsnes, Executive Vice President at Strawberry, expressed his enthusiasm about the completed rollout, stating, “This transformation was integral in our continual push for innovation, and we’re delighted that our entire hotel portfolio is now powered by Mews. The speed at which our teams have adapted to the new software is a testament to its ease of use, and it’s already having a big impact across operations and guest experiences.”
Since the initial migration, Strawberry has processed over 2.5 million reservations through the Mews PMS. Additionally, one-third of their properties now utilize Mews Kiosks, allowing guests to check in through self-serve kiosks, typically completing the process in just two and a half minutes, including the option to purchase in-kiosk upgrades.
Kari Anna Fiskvik, Senior Vice President of Technology at Strawberry, highlighted the scale of the operation: “Implementing Mews across over 200 properties was a huge undertaking. Each hotel uses multiple integrations that had to be seamlessly transitioned. We have updated our tech ecosystem and rebuilt over 20 different systems during this transformation to fully leverage Mews’ marketplace. All teams involved did an outstanding job, ensuring our high standards of hotel operations were maintained.”
On average, each Strawberry hotel is connected to 15 active integrations, underscoring the importance of reliable connectivity provided by Mews. Through Mews Marketplace and Mews Open API, Strawberry has integrated several custom tools, enhancing their operational capabilities.
Matt Welle, CEO of Mews, praised the collaboration with Strawberry: “In the last two years, we’ve developed a strong relationship with the Strawberry team. Their openness to new ways of working and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences is truly inspiring. I’m thrilled that every hotel is now powered by Mews. An exciting future lies ahead.”
The successful deployment of Mews across Strawberry’s extensive portfolio marks a significant milestone in the hotel group’s journey towards enhanced technological integration and superior guest services.
Strawberry is one of the largest hotel companies in Scandinavia with 240 hotels in Scandinavia, Finland and the Baltics and over 16,500 employees. It is a franchisee of Choice Hotels International. The franchise agreement gives the company the right to use three brands and their umbrella brands.
