Steve Singh’s Otto Secures $6 Million in Seed Funding for AI Travel Assistant
Otto, an innovative startup focused on creating an AI-powered travel assistant for business travelers, has successfully raised $6 million in its seed funding round. The investment was spearheaded by Madrona Ventures and saw participation from travel management firm Direct Travel, along with prominent angel investors including Erik Blachford, former CEO of Expedia, Barney Harford, former CEO of Orbitz, and Hugh Crean, former CEO of Farecast. Steve Singh, Concur founder and Madrona managing director, who acquired Direct Travel in April, is the executive chairman of Otto.
The AI-driven platform aims to offer a comprehensive travel assistant capable of planning, booking, and supporting business travelers based on their preferences, ranging from flights to accommodations. Otto plans to integrate with other industry players, including Direct Travel and Spotnana, where Singh has served as CEO since June. The startup emerged from Madrona Venture Labs, with Singh and Michael Gulmann, Otto’s CEO and founder, driving its development.
Singh envisions AI revolutionizing the travel industry, streamlining how travelers plan and manage their trips. “Otto is set to redefine the travel experience with a personalized and intelligent assistant,” Singh stated. Gulmann echoed this sentiment, highlighting the transformative potential of Otto’s technology.
Otto’s AI assistant promises to enhance business travel by offering a smart, personalized approach to planning and booking, reflecting Steve Singh’s vision for a more efficient travel experience.
