Italian Elegance Reimagined: Six Senses Expands with New Luxurious Escapes in Milan and Lake Como
Six Senses announces two captivating new properties in Italy—Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como—adding to its growing luxury portfolio in Europe. These new destinations follow the debut of Six Senses Rome and promise an exquisite blend of Italian heritage and the brand’s signature wellness and sustainability offerings.
Six Senses, the acclaimed luxury brand under IHG Hotels & Resorts, has revealed plans to further expand its footprint in Italy with the opening of two extraordinary properties—Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como. These projects represent a significant new chapter in Six Senses’ Italian presence, following the successful debut of Six Senses Rome in 2023 and the announcement of the upcoming Six Senses Antognolla in Umbria. Both properties will epitomize the Six Senses ethos of seamlessly combining luxury, sustainability, and wellness with the unique charm and history of their locations.
Six Senses Milan: Craftsmanship Meets Contemporary Elegance
Set to open in 2025, Six Senses Milan will be located in the vibrant Brera district, known for its rich artistic heritage and a thriving cultural scene. The hotel will be situated at Via Brera 19, offering guests a luxurious retreat in the heart of Milan’s fashion and design capital. The area’s renowned galleries and museums, such as the Pinacoteca di Brera, provide a tranquil respite from the bustling city.
Six Senses Milan will be a sanctuary of sophisticated design and sustainability, reflecting the brand’s commitment to responsible luxury. With 68 rooms, including 15 suites and two plunge pool suites, the hotel will offer an intimate yet opulent experience. The interiors will be adorned with exquisite materials like arabescato marble, antique brass, and handmade smoked glass, capturing a timeless sense of style. Guests will also be invited to explore the hotel’s Earth Lab, which showcases the property’s eco-friendly initiatives, and enjoy the serene ambiance of the internal courtyard.
The wellness experience will be central to Six Senses Milan, featuring a state-of-the-art spa offering innovative treatments and therapies. A rooftop bar and sky pool will provide a stunning vantage point over the city, creating an urban oasis that reflects Milan’s dynamic energy and contemporary sophistication.
Six Senses Lake Como: A Dreamy Lakeside Retreat
Nestled on the western shores of Lake Como, Six Senses Lake Como is slated to open in 2028 after a full restoration of the historic Grand Hotel Cadenabbia. This location, which first welcomed guests in 1820, has long been a playground for aristocrats, poets, and Hollywood stars alike. With its lush gardens, panoramic lake views, and timeless appeal, the property will be transformed into a luxurious retreat that harmonizes with the natural beauty of its surroundings.
The reimagined Six Senses Lake Como will offer 102 spacious rooms and suites, allowing for a more exclusive and tranquil guest experience. In keeping with Six Senses’ focus on wellness, the resort will feature an expanded spa and wellness area, along with an outdoor pool, sun deck, and even a floating pool on the lake itself. Guests can look forward to dining in the signature restaurant or unwinding at the terrace bar, both offering stunning views of the lake and its scenic backdrop.
Lake Como’s history of inspiring literary greats like Wordsworth and Byron, combined with its reputation as a haven for royalty and celebrities, makes it the perfect setting for Six Senses to deliver its signature brand of relaxation and rejuvenation. The resort’s picturesque gardens, filled with rare plants, will enhance the sense of tranquility and renewal that defines the guest experience.
Six Senses and Gruppo Statuto: Expanding Italian Luxury
These two new properties mark a continued collaboration between Six Senses and Gruppo Statuto, Italy’s leading real estate group. Building on the success of Six Senses Rome and Six Senses Ibiza, Gruppo Statuto has cemented its position as a major player in high-end hospitality, with plans to bring Six Senses to more iconic international destinations. Giuseppe Statuto, the owner of Gruppo Statuto, highlighted the growing demand for luxury hotels in Italy, driven by the country’s rich history, culture, and lifestyle.
Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses, emphasized that Italy’s allure lies in its unparalleled blend of art, architecture, and culinary excellence.
