Grand Lakes Orlando Introduces Exclusive Helicopter Tour to Kennedy Space Center
Grand Lakes Orlando has launched an exhilarating new experience, perfect for space enthusiasts and history buffs alike—the Kennedy Space Center Helicopter Tour. This luxurious day out takes guests from the expansive 500-acre Grand Lakes resort, nestled alongside The Ritz-Carlton Orlando and JW Marriott Orlando, directly to the world-renowned Kennedy Space Center via a state-of-the-art EC-130 helicopter.
As NASA’s principal launch site, the Kennedy Space Center holds iconic status, having launched the Apollo astronauts to the moon. This premium experience, curated by the space tourism company Galactic Medallion, caters to groups of up to four guests, blending breathtaking helicopter views with an immersive educational journey through America’s space history.
Upon departing from Grand Lakes Orlando, guests will soar over important landmarks like NASA’s Vehicle Assembly Building and Shuttle Landing Facility before landing at Port Canaveral. Upon arrival, a dedicated guide will lead visitors through a private tour of NASA’s facilities, offering behind-the-scenes insights into the past, present, and future of space exploration. Highlights include a close-up view of historic spacecraft like the Apollo-Saturn V Rocket and Atlantis Orbiter, as well as an engaging visit to the Astronaut Hall of Fame.
For an added touch of exclusivity, guests can opt for a VIP experience, which includes a bus tour with either a former NASA astronaut from the Shuttle Era or former launch director Mike Leinbach. These unique personal interactions provide an even deeper connection to the wonders of space travel.
After a morning filled with discovery, guests will enjoy a sophisticated lunch at a rooftop venue, offering panoramic views of Indian River and the Kennedy Space Center. The meal provides a chance to unwind and engage with a distinguished guest speaker, further enriching the experience.
To cap off the adventure, a champagne toast is offered at sunset before guests board the helicopter for a stunning return flight to Grand Lakes Orlando, making this an unforgettable day for those passionate about the exploration of the cosmos.
