Austin Roach, chairman of Radisson Blu Bengaluru, Outer Ring Road and owner of Roach Lifescapes, shared insights into his journey and passion for the hospitality industry. Starting in real estate in Bengaluru in the early 90s, Roach transitioned from residential projects to pioneering gated communities. His foray into hospitality began opportunistically, encouraged by associates and the potential of the property earmarked for a mall, which eventually became the Radisson Blu Bengaluru.
Roach emphasized the importance of passion in hospitality, stating, “Anyone who doesn’t have the passion for it shouldn’t be in the hospitality industry.” His involvement expanded with projects like Cover Greens Golfscapes RBD Sarovar Portico and upcoming ventures in leisure properties, including a planned health resort. Reflecting on the industry, Roach highlighted the competitive nature of Indian hospitality and advised aspiring entrepreneurs to maintain high standards to succeed.
