Wyndham Elevates Makkah Hospitality with New Ramada by Wyndham Property
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced a significant addition to its portfolio in Saudi Arabia with the signing of Ramada by Wyndham Mekkah Al Jumaizah. Set to open in January 2026, this new property is part of Wyndham’s ongoing effort to strengthen its presence in Makkah and cater to the needs of religious travelers.
Prime Location with Pilgrims in Mind
Situated in the Ma’abada neighborhood, just two kilometers from Masjid Al Haram, the new Ramada will provide convenient access for pilgrims visiting the holy city. Its proximity to key religious landmarks positions it as a prime choice for travelers seeking a balance of comfort, accessibility, and quality accommodations.
Modern Design and Enhanced Guest Offerings
The 4-star property will feature 347 rooms, designed to reflect Ramada’s updated standards. With diverse dining options, including an all-day restaurant, a specialty dining venue, and a lobby café, the hotel aims to cater to a variety of preferences. These facilities, combined with modern amenities, promise a superior experience for guests.
Panos Loupasis, Market Managing Director for Türkiye, Middle East, and Africa at Wyndham, highlights the property’s significance:
“Our expansion in Makkah underscores Wyndham’s commitment to providing accessible and quality accommodations for travelers to the Holy City. This property will further strengthen the midscale segment in the region, blending comfort with convenience.”
Driving Economic Growth and Job Creation
Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, this project is set to create approximately 200 jobs, contributing to local economic development. The collaboration between Wyndham and Al Mutmayzah Brothers Maintenance and Cleaning Co., which already operates Wyndham properties in Makkah, reflects a shared commitment to fostering regional growth.
Mohamad Haj Hassan, Country Director for Saudi Arabia at Wyndham, notes:
“This partnership demonstrates our dedication to enhancing tourism infrastructure in Makkah. The addition of this property underscores our goal of offering memorable and high-quality guest experiences in one of the world’s most significant destinations.”
Broader Strategic Goals in Saudi Arabia
This development is part of Wyndham’s broader strategy to expand its footprint in the Kingdom. Currently operating 14 properties in Saudi Arabia, the brand aims to meet the rising demand for quality accommodations fueled by an increase in pilgrimage visitors and the Kingdom’s focus on tourism growth.
A Collaborative Vision for Makkah
Walid Abou Sabaa, Director at Al Mutmayzah Brothers, emphasizes the importance of the collaboration:
“We are proud to work with Wyndham to bring this exceptional addition to Makkah’s hospitality scene. The Ramada by Wyndham Mekkah Al Jumaizah will deliver unparalleled service and convenience for visitors from across the globe.”
A Growing Portfolio in a Revered Destination
As Makkah’s hospitality landscape evolves, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is strategically positioned to play a pivotal role in enhancing the city’s tourism infrastructure. With Ramada by Wyndham Mekkah Al Jumaizah, the company not only meets the increasing demand for midscale accommodations but also strengthens its reputation as a trusted name in the global hospitality industry.
