The Social Hub Launches Innovative Room Design
Hybrid hospitality brand The Social Hub has introduced a series of premium rooms featuring a fresh design at its Amsterdam location.
These newly designed guest rooms aim to provide a “calming and functional private space” in contrast to the lively communal areas of the property.
This innovative room concept is the result of a year-long research initiative that included internal and external surveys, focus groups with staff and guests, and consultations with design experts.
Key features of the premium rooms include:
– Hybrid utility space designed for two guests to lounge, work, and play.
– Comfortable sleeping arrangements: king-size bed with a choice of pillows, alongside chairs and tables for working, studying, or relaxing.
– Luxurious bathroom equipped with a rain shower, double sink, Zenology clean cosmetics, and bamboo bathroom tissue by The Good Roll.
– Inviting aesthetics: warm color tones, fabrics, wooden floors, and dimmable lighting.
– Curated reading material, including books like Tal Ben-Shahar’s Happier No Matter What, Rutger Bregman’s Humankind: A Hopeful History, and Elkhart Tolle’s The Power of Now.
The design is being spearheaded by Italy’s Rizoma Architetture, with contributions from The Netherlands’ DUM (chairs), BYBORRE (fabrics), and Denmark’s Kvadrat (fabrics).
After the pilot phase, this new design will be progressively implemented across all properties over the coming years.
Marion Koopman, The Social Hub’s Chief Operations and Commercial Officer, stated: “After extensive research to understand the needs of our diverse guest profiles, we’ve developed a new room concept that reflects the evolution of our brand’s design experience. Our goal is to transition guests from the ‘we’ of community-centric spaces to the ‘me’ of a more sophisticated and value-driven experience. This rollout will also position our hubs within a higher category competitive set that we are targeting.”
