Habyt Ventures into Hospitality: Blurring the Lines Between Living and Hotel Stays
Habyt’s entry into the hotel sector marks a significant move in the evolving hospitality and living crossover. Known as a “flexible living” operator, Habyt has grown rapidly through acquisitions, including Common in the United States and Hmlet in Southeast Asia. Now, Habyt has launched its first hotel, The Waterfront in Berlin, catering to both short-term and long-term stays.
Hotel brands like Selina and Brøchner are already blending various accommodation types, from hostel-style dorms to classic double rooms. The Waterfront features 144 standard rooms and 92 extended-stay studios, with potential for Habyt to diversify its room offerings further.
As the industry shifts beyond traditional hospitality boundaries, property management systems must adapt. At the recent Urban Living Festival, Maxime Leufroy-Muray from Opago highlighted ongoing consolidation among tech providers, driven by the convergence of different asset classes.
