Canadian Travel Experts Converge in Jordan for Groundbreaking Tourism Conference
Jordan recently played host to 257 Canadian travel experts for the 10th annual Travel Agent Next Door (TTAND) conference from June 3 to 10, aiming to bolster tourism and economic stability.
Organized by the Jordan Tourism Board North America (JTBNA) in partnership with TTAND and G Adventures, the event highlighted Jordan’s resilience and appeal as a premier travel destination. The conference took place in several iconic locations, including the Dead Sea, Petra, and Aqaba, marking the first time the event was held outside of North America.
This gathering was the culmination of a three-year campaign, showcasing the strong collaboration between JTBNA, TTAND, G Adventures, and Royal Jordanian Airlines. The conference sold out in a record 47 seconds, attracting 223 Canadian travel agents, 34 tour operators, TTAND staff, and Canadian media representatives.
“We’re honoured to host TTAND in Jordan and excited to show all attendees what Jordan has to offer their clients, including exceptional Bedouin hospitality,” said Malia Asfour, managing director of JTBNA. “The Canadian market has been a consistent and resilient revenue-generating market for Jordan, and we look forward to welcoming more Canadians as a result.”
David Green, VP Sales and Customer Operations & managing director Canada, G Adventures, added, “Jordan’s rich cultural tapestry and breathtaking landscapes continue to captivate our travellers year after year. We’re proud to collaborate with JTBNA and TTAND in promoting sustainable tourism and showcasing Jordan’s treasures to Canadian travellers.”
The conference not only reinforced Jordan’s position as a top travel destination but also emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism in fostering global travel partnerships.
